Mace Playce is the biggest soft play in Chelmsford. It’s located in the industrial area to the north of a Chelmer Village, across the street from B&Q.
Mace Playce has two play frames, one for babies and toddlers and one for older children. You can’t see one from the other because of the size of the place so it can be awkward if you’ve got children of different ages unless the older ones can play unsupervised. If you’re looking for rainy day activities then you might also like Jump Street Chelmsford.
For the Younger Children
The play frame for babies and toddlers feels really safe because you have to step in and out of it so little ones can’t easily run off. As well as the play frame there are useful things like baby walkers, jumperoos and the ever popular “cosy coupe” cars to help keep the smallest children entertained. The toddler play frame includes a slide, bumpy steps, a tunnel and lots of soft blocks to build with.
For the Older Children
The older children’s play frame is much bigger. If your kids are nervous or need close supervision you will likely need to go in with them. My oldest is 10 now and still enjoys the odd visit to Mace Playce, primarily because there are so many different activities in the frame. There is a large slide, a trampoline, a ball pit, a shuttle run, swinging things to hang from, nets to bounce off, tubes to climb in, giant balls to bounce off and a look out point right at the top.
Mace a Playce often run events, like puppet shows and character cafes as well as adult events for fund raising like bingo. They have a Santa’s Grotto every year which is very popular.
Other Features of Mace Playce Chelmsford
You can have children’s parties at Mace Playce. They have their own party shop and you can add things like balloons and character appearances to your party booking. I’ve been to lots of parties at Mace Playce over the years as well as having my own and all of the hosts have been excellent.
Mace Playce is one of the cleanest soft plays I’ve ever visited. They have a large seating area and serve hot and cold food, drinks and snacks, including proper coffee.
They have their own car park but it does get full at busy times. The Postcode for Mace Playce is CM2 6JY. You can find more information on the Mace Playce Website.
